Last year we posted about studiometrico‘s involvement in the Operation Fornebu with bkark, 6a and jcla. Long time has passed by and unfortunately we haven’t got that competition. Nevertheless we had great time, intense design sessions with fantastic people and – we believe – a very strong proposal.

SEA – the company that runs Italian Airports – launched a 2 phases competition for the ‘new gate’ of the Airport of Malpensa. The brief, addressed to teams composed by architects and artists, defined a site between terminal and train station, a budget and some programmatic ambitions. The ‘Gate’ had to be conceived both as transit and pause space, function as infrastructure, be perceived as a landmark and behave as an exhibition space. Lorenzo Bini from studiometrico has been appointed by Hav Eiendom AS to be the foreign member of the RFQ-committee for the Deichmanske Main Library Competition. The committees has worked in Oslo between October 13th and 21st to select a list of 10 architect teams that will take part in the international planning and design competition in the area of Bjørvika on a site adjacent to the Opera designed by Snøhetta.

studiometrico has won BAM‘s FIRST PRIZE ! BAM is an invited idea competition for the re-use of some abandoned historical centers on the Italian Adriatic Coast.  After some painful defeats, this is the first time for us to win an Architecture Competition! Next Sunday, the 27 of April, we will be awarded at the Architecture School of Ascoli Piceno.

On the 3rd of April studiometrico submitted a design proposal for BAM, an invited idea competition for the re-use of three historical centers along the italian Adriatic Coast. Studiometrico was asked by the Architecture School of Ascoli Piceno, University of Camerino to produce an Architectural Manifesto describing how the half-abandoned town of Marano could be revitalised. In our proposal Marano is transformed into a 13 hectares Retail Park at exclusive use of the A14 highway that stretches along the Italian East Coast. The results of the competition should be made public before the end of April…
